Sakai After School Programs

Here is a sampling of some of the programs that we offer to our 5th-8th grade members:

Project Learn:

An interactive after-school homework assistance program for students. This program helps young people to appreciate homework as a time to work independently and feel good about their accomplishments.

Image Makers Digital Photography:

This program will focus on the fundamentals of digital photography including composition, editing and the utilization of photographic software.

Culinary Adventures:

From making fresh pasta to creating healthy, yet tasty smoothies, this program will teach members that healthy cooking can be an extremely fun creative experience with wonderfully edible results!

Fitness Authority/Triple Play:

This program promotes fitness in all youth through fun and engaging activities. Club members play games, try new sports, as well as measure and track fitness levels with simple, yet fun tests of endurance, flexibility and strength.

Smart Girls:

A health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

Wise Guys:

This program promotes and teaches responsibility to Club boys. Each male member receives guidance regarding his own personal journey of maturation and growth. The program also promotes a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions and activities that reinforce positive behavior.

Torch Club:

Torch Club is a group of members focused on planning and implementing youth-led service learning projects throughout our community. In this program, the members take a lead role in delivering their respective projects with the support of Club staff. Through these actions, leadership and communication skills as well as increased community awareness is instilled in its participants.
